24x7 Monitoring & Alerting

With iGLASS, you’ll always have eyes on your network. When something goes wrong, you can expect us to follow up with a phone call from an actual NOC engineer located here in the United States. We also generate automated alerts via email, pager (yes, people still have those) and SMS. Our trouble-ticketing system keeps tabs on everything and our Internet portal allows you to see what’s happening in real-time.

Tier-1 Outage Remediation

Our optional Tier-1 Outage Remediation lets you sleep through the night, while our engineers work diligently to resolve your outages. Rest easy knowing we’ve got your back! We’ll work with you to develop “run books” which document the steps to take in the event of a network issue. Common examples include opening carrier tickets, resetting interfaces and rebooting hosts.

Monitoring Metrics that Matter

For most network devices, we monitor a standard set of metrics which include link status, bandwidth utilization, errors and packets. Other popular metrics include CPU utilization, memory, latency and power.

Monitoring SNMP Traps & Syslog

We’ll receive and process SNMP traps and syslog messages generated by monitored network equipment. Our flexible, rules-based events engine allows us to specify the severity of events at the moment they’re received, and generate alerts via email, SMS, page and/or phone calls to your staff from our 24x7 NOC. Rules may even be time-based or count-based, to give alerts time to clear and reduce false-positive alerts.

Flexible Polling Options

iGLASS will monitor your network using a variety of methods, including standard protocols such as:

  • SNMP (v1, 2 & 3)
  • CLI Scripts
  • HTTP/S Polling

 

Monitoring Event Logs

iGLASS can parse event logs looking for error codes, success/failure messages, power interruptions, last gasps or other helpful information. This can be extremely useful both in detecting problems before they become service-affecting, and improving our monitoring after-the-fact. We may also collect log statistics for use during Tier-1 Remediation efforts when we open carrier tickets.
